It would be incredibly cramped in narrowboat layout. If you want it 'authentic' you lose about 10 feet for the well deck and the counter on the stern. You could get it down to about 8 by losing the well deck, but that'd be a shame because your little people wouldn't be able to sit out front with a glass of wine at the end of the day

29 ft narrowboats do exist, but you'd be looking at a fold out bed, 3 kitchen units and a bathroom the same size opposite it. This one's a bit longer at 34 feet, but it'll give you an idea.

Caravan has less outside space, so might work better
