Default Fireplace

Hello...looking for some advice! I'm building my first dolls house kit...Willow cottage...and looking at an elegant Georgian fireplace in the catalogue for the lounge but it looks far too big for the room....what do other people do?
Also incidentally realise that I've stupidly glued the skirting board all along the wall before putting the fireplace in. What a numpty.

Hello! I would probably try to find a smaller fireplace. Or get the measurements of the one you like, make a mock-up from cardboard and sit it in your house to check for size. And donít worry, we all do those sorts of things. All the time.

hi skodadet, welcome to the forum.. there are lots of georgian fireplaces on offer so i think you'll be lucky eventually in finding the right scale for your room,i had quite a few of all sizes years ago,as shannon said you could make your own from cardboard, mountboard, airdrying clays, the diy stores sell wood mouldings or buy them from a dollshouse manufacturer that sells accessories too...sometimes jewellery works in these scales so you could make a one off of your design..have fun on the forum, its agreat hobby.

goings on..
