I'll add another vote for Angie Scarr's book on fruit and veg.

I've also got Jamie Carrington's figure book. I haven't tried to make anything from it yet - I'm more engineer than artisan! - but it's really entertaining! It's very well written and funny.

The Sue Heaser books are all on Amazon, and they have previews so you can see quite a bit of the content before you buy.
