Default Dolls House and Miniature Scene online

Does anyone else think it is a bit rude that the online magazine costs the same as the printed version?

Dolls House and Miniature Scene Single Digital Issue Ģ3.99
Dolls House & Miniature Scene May 2013 Issue 227 Ģ3.99 (+P&P)

I know you are saving postage, but a digital magazine is not as satisfying as flicking through a paper version and you still need to print out bits for projects. The production costs would have to be significantly less too.

Maybe I am just tight.

I wouldn't buy either. They shouldn't be the same price, I would think the printed version would cost much more to produce.

No I feel the same and I've noticed it on other magazines too!! I'm sure I read somewhere that it's because you have to pay VAT on digital items same as e-readers but not sure!

I prefer a real magazine so definately wouldn't pay the same for an online version.

I imagined they would be but maybe they aren't?

I'm not sure VAT is a good excuse though as I'm not sure international customers have to pay VAT, like you Brits shouldn't be charged our GST.

Some sellers remove it at checkout, some don't and some are sensible enough to have the pricing in AUD so you wouldn't know what they are charging (although you could probably work it out )

Ia gree. It is wrong for them to charge the same amount for digital mags. I do have to say however that at least they can be downloaded onto your device, because some digital magazines are web-based, so if you are away from home and don't have an internet connection (or a fast/cheap one) then you can't access them. I don't subscribe to any emags, just buy them occasionally when I am bored and then usually regret spending the money.

I subscribed to Dolls House World imag when I started dolls housing and it couldn't be saved to your computer. The sample was in PDF format but when I joined it was page turning technology which was a bit aggravating. It had the bonus of being able to access heaps of back issues though so was value for money and as I had a damaged printer that I wanted to use the ink up on, I could print to my hearts content.

I've just subscribed to The Dolls House (just over $20 AU) and am not sure how you download it to keep although apparently you can. This issue is a little disappointing, however as they are $15 each in hard copy when you can find them I think it will be worth it over the year.

I've just subscribed to the Dollshouse World imag as you also get to see all the back issues. Still prefer an actual magazine but this way is much cheaper and I won't end up with a pile of old mags either.
