Default Please help with stairs, flooring and lights (again)

The end is sight!!! Just a few little niggles.

1. Stairs - I have stuck the stairs to the riser block. My question is do I stick the stairs into the house/attach them or do they just rest stay up on there own?

2. Flooring - the carpet is adhesive but the tiled effect one isn't. What would be best to stick it in with?

3. I've found some little things from my lights. They look a little bit like an ear ring back. Do I attach these to the metal prongs for the socket strip?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Eeekkkk nearly done xxxx

The stairs are usually stuck in after they are painted. If you are planning to add a stair carpet you have to do it before it is in. Make sure that the walls, floors, are done. If you are planning skirting and cornice make sure you take the stairs in consideration. Usually for me the stairs are the last to go in.

The flooring can be pasted like the walls but I like to stick them on a cardboard before and use some double sided tape. This is jusf in case you want to change tje lights or add more. Remember that first you have to add the ceiling lights of the rooms below before doing the floor.

The little bits that come with the lights are for the cooper tape lightning installation. As you will be using the socket strip you don't need them.

Hi Rebecca thank you!!! That's great help. Can I ask you, how do attach the stairs to the house? Do you glue them in or do they just fit in and stay out?

Many thanks xxxx

I usually glue them in. But it is a matter of opinion. Some stairs definitely need glueing especially if they have a hand rail with posts and spindles. But if you feel that the stairs can just be placed without glueing than that is all up to you. Sometimes you can find it easier to decorate the stair halls if the stair case can be removed and placed again. I guess it all depends what kind of stairs you have and the dolls house's style.

With Wentworth Court you definitly don't have any problems. I think I would just add a little glue just to keep it in place.

I just used a small strip of double sided tape to the top and bottom of my stairs. It's enough to hold them in place but I can also easily remove them if I wanted to redecorate or change the stair carpet.
