I had posted a thread on another section of the forum re battery lights. There is a company located in the States that makes and sells battery lights. I have bought 2 and am very pleased. Can't remember the name of the site but if you google it it will come up. Manhattan something. Also, I noticed that othere miniature stores in the States are selling their lights too. There are no outlets in the UK. That is what they told me when I asked them. Hope this helsp. There is a tiny switch at the base that you turn the lights on/off.

Default lamp

I got some lamps from Goosey Ganders (google them) and they are great. No wiring and just run on a watch battery. I can move them around from room to room and put them wherever I like when we have change around

I bought my mini mini lights from my local dollar store. I'm not sure what the British equivalent would be, but I'm sure you have your own version of knick-knack stores where things can be purchased inexpensively.

My mini mini lights only cost a buck or two and you can see how I installed them in my Buttercup Bash in my gallery.

I revamped and old elc house for my grandaughter's 2nd bd. I suppose it depends whether you want her to have something she can play with at a young age or a collectors piece for when she gets older. Elc are sturdy, easy to gdet hold of (ebay) and you can get the heavy wooden furniture which is great for tiny hands and very robust. They paint up well too, so easy to make a bit different

the battery lights have an on/off switch on the side. I am hoping they will do a candlelabra so I can put in on the table and not have to have wires all over the place.
