Hi Amanda & Chris

It's lovely at Windsor I just wish we could have had more time, but going round the Castle took a while. The State Rooms are really posh, you would get lots of ideas Amanda you must go sometimes. There is a hand held audio guide but I couldn't keep up with it, I must have been about 2 rooms behind. I managed to get lots of info though.
I want to make a throne for my daughters castle after seeing the real ones there, but that is something else to keep in mind. We did walk over to Eton & I bought some dolls house bits from a shop which sold antiques / 2nd hand things.

I would definitely love to go to Windsor at some point to see the dolls houses...
I live quite a while away but if it is worth a visit then I will definitely go, maybe at Christmas.
There's also a museum in York called the Castle Museum which displays a fine range of Georgian and Elizabethan dolls houses and they occasionaly offer workshops to make different items for your own dolls house.

I went for the weekend & stayed at my sisters house which is about 1 hours ride away, it is defiantly worth visiting but check before going if the State Rooms are open beforehand. The house was designed by Luteyns with all the miniatures made by famous people of the time.

I have been to the Castle Museum in York more than once but not for a few years, I have been wanting to go back but not had the time.

Sounds wonderful, I can't remember if it was this one i saw years ago or somewhere else i seem to remember a room full of several large very grand dolls houses all behind glass. I would love to go there now.
