Default Queen Mary's Dollshouse

Has anyone visited the Queen Mary's Dollshouse in Windsor Castle? It sounds absolutely incredible! I am hoping to go and see it - we were hoping to get there this year but unfortunately we haven't been able to but it is on my list as a definite place to visit! What workmanship has gone into it, all the best artisans of the time were commissioned to make items for it, there is even a flushing loo! Just wondered if anyone had seen it..?

Queen Mary's dolls house is well worth a visit, I was green with envy but very inspired after my visit. Every detail is so perfect, you cant help but be captivated.

Hi Jenny,

Just taken a look at the above link, I would love to have a house of that size with all the detail. I especially liked the image of the kitchen, it just looked so realistic and life sized.

Hi everyone,

Queen Mary's Dolls House - I'm going to see it next month!! Can't wait. It's one of the deals through the newspaper. My friend and I will do the train down, theatre night and spend an extra day there visiting Windsor. We've yet to confirm dates but hopefully it will come together OK. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Hi davidsmum

Lucky You...I'm really jealous
I visited it a few years ago before i was interested in dolls houses when I went to Windsor Castle.

I still have the guide book which I bought at the time...its so realistic.
It was designed by Edwin Lutyens &all the well known artists, authors & tradesmen of the time made things for it.

have a Windsor Castle marvellous time when you go

Hi Cinderella,

Thanks very much for that. I've got the book so I have a rough idea of what I'm going to see and like you I had visited Windsor many many years ago before the dh bug bit! I'm glad in a way though as I think I will appreciate it all much more now than I would have then.
