Default Any tips on making spices?

for my next projext , i wanted to make some spices display, like the ones you can find on some bazaar in middle east market (like in the pic attached)
any tips on what to use to create those? some people suggets using real spices but its not really convenient as i dont want them to be all over the place if someone sneeze in front of them was thinking about painting some material who got that grainy or powdery look

Easy: shape some styrofoam(?)/balsawood into form (e.g cone), cover with glue and use fine coloured sand or similar stuff.
No more danger of sneezing-desaster

painting material would be great for the brighter colours, also have a look in a railway shop at the scenery scatter material. theres greens, browns and blacks there. you could also chop up some greenery from railway shop too.

Can you still buy powder paints? They come in all the colours you would need and you could mix them too! Or cheap eyeshadows ground up...?

That's a clever idea as long as you don't wish to glue it in place!
