Glad you had a good time and hope the savings go well, I have a hobby room for my houses but they all overflowed out of it now giggle

Houghton Hall is about 30 miles from me too, been there a few times while I was deciding what to start with as my first house.

There is loads there, but it always seems fairly quiet when I've been.

Didn't go on the motorway but part of the journey was on the A7 and there must have been at least 8 temporary traffic lights within the 30miles we were on it. Took over 2 hours to get there and the same coming back. Nearly didn't get there in the first place. Took my DS to Berwick first and at a mini roundabout I indicated I was going right and this stupid person pulled out in front of us while we were on it Thank gawd for brilliant brakes, I think I missed the moron by about a mm.

The shop at Houghton Hall doesn't have as much as the one in Ripley.

How I wish there was DHE as close as that. It is strange though as my DH was saying the next time we go we should go early in the morning and then pop into Carisle for a visit. So my driving couldn't have been that bad lol

I was the only one there as well but the woman serving was really helpful and I was able to browse without anyone getting in my way
