Hi i'm Sarah and i'm 25 years old. I've been using the DHE website for a few months now and decided to register for the forum. I think my hubby 2 be is getting fed up of miniature talk so i thought i better give him a break and find someone else to chat to.
So about my dolls houses........ I'm still a newbie to the hobby (compared to most). I got my first house xmas 2006. Its an edwardian 3 storey (including attic) with a modern interior. to which i
added a large garden. My 2nd came xmas 2007. Again an edwardian house with modern interior. This time 5 storey including attic and basement. A couple of months ago i bought the retreat with the vision of turning it onto a lake/seaside cafe complete with 12th scale sail boat. the boat i won on ebay along with a couple of handmade fisherman for £7. And today i placed an on line order with DHE for Luytens. I now have to wait till tuesday for it to arrive. :(
With 3 boys under the age of 5 i really wonder where i get the time, money and space for this very very addictive hobby.

None of my projects are finished. and each one seems less finished than the last but i'm getting bored with just decorating and placing shop bought furniture and accesories. I want to be more creative with Luytens and am open to suggetions. So please don't be shy. As you've probably guessed i like modern.

OMG i'm boring myself now. Can't imagine how y'all feeling.

So Anyways, HI! :D

Hi Sarah, and Welcome. You're no beginner - all those houses! This is a great place for friendship and hints and tips on anything DH related.

I'm sure the others will be along soon to welcome you - and they'll want photos of your houses too!

Hi Sarahz

http://th143.photobucket.com/albums/r140/momoftobus/Welcome/th_bearswingwelcome.gif (http://media.photobucket.com/image/welcome/momoftobus/Welcome/bearswingwelcome.gif?o=73) to the forum, you will find us a nosy bunch, we love pictures so when you have time you can start your own thread for your houses in Home Sweet Home

There is usually someone somewhere on line who can help with tips, hints and advise if you have a problem just shout, but with all those houses already under your belt not sure you will need it

We are all also DHA's so you are among friends, as long as you remember that you will also become a Forum Addict too

Some of us have started making things from mountboard, have a look at Southover House there is a chest of drawers in there made from this stuff, it is really easy if you are looking to trying to make some things for your next house, have you used Fimo at all yet that is another item that a lot of us use, that is also very addictive

Everyone has a photographic memory.
Some, like me, just don't have any film.

Hi SarahZ warm wlecome to you, i think you will love the forum, everyone is so friendly and we do have fun, and also any probs theres always someone who knows about it, so dont be scared to ask. Wow the Lutzens is lovely i would love that one, but its so big and i have other properties, but one day i would like a lovely big house, my hubby has bought my Montgomery Hall a few months back for an 35 year anniversary so i have that to do plus few bits and bobs to finish off so i had better not ask for another just yet maybe this time next year ha ha but dont tell him. lol

Hi Sarah....Just to add my Welcome to the Forum!...and I look forward to seeing the photos of your houses, when you have a minute to spare to put them on!

Lutyens is a very big house...you must have loads of room ...the Lutyens is beautiful I wish I had one...but not enough room left as I already have 5 houses and am hoping to have a Church next!

Loads of room? Nope. Just one of the impulse buys. I'm terrible at buying before thinking.

We're just in the market for a larger property (Real one) so it probably wont be coming out of its box(es) until we move. ;) Well thats the plan ;) But at 50% + 5% birthday discount off i couldn't resist.

Sarah.

Hi SarahZ

Well if you can take advantage of an offer like that it is best not to pass it up, just make sure that your new house has plenty of DH expansion room and if you can get on a hobby room too!!! very handy means you can leave everthing where it is

Hi Amanda,
Well the house i have my eye on has a workshop in the garden with some surrounding space to expand.
I like the idea of the workshop in garden. It means i can get out of the house.
I'm already aware of how addictive this is and am planning ahead.
Sarah.
