Hi everyone

Im not so new to dolls house, but I "retired" from it many years ago and have now got back into it with a vengence to make up for all the lost years. (I am 30)

Although I do purchase a lot from DHE as and when I have enough pennies, what I would really like is the chance to meet up with like minded people. At present I belong to several on-line clubs, but I really want to get out and about.

So if anybody in my area Retford, worksop, newark etc etc would like to join me for a little tete a tete, please email me.

Also, has anybody got any idea as to how I can remove an awful lot of very old, very dry wallpaper that was stuck on 15 years ago with copydex - Whoops

I like making things with fimo, and recently I puchased a paper flower kit, which I duly made up and my dog ate! Have ordered another one and sold the dog on ebay!!! Not really - he is my wonderful little boy, (he is actually a rather large and lanky 10 year old black lab).

Thanks kiddiwinks

Hi Cheeky

http://th218.photobucket.com/albums/cc6/neuzat/th_1003215qpwncckkgg.gif (http://media.photobucket.com/image/welcome/neuzat/1003215qpwncckkgg.gif?o=59) to the forum, you will find we are a friendly bunch on here you will however find that some are nutters and some are very impatient and will keep asking you for pictures!!!!

As to your problem with the copydex wallpaper have you tried soaking it off, or even warming it up to soften the copydex, or you could always try either white spirit or nail varnish remover, hope you can get this sorted

Could tell us what house you have, and you can introduce your wonderful little boy on the thread Emporium Island Pets

I have a DHE Classical. I have thought about soaking it off but would that not make the MDF fall to pieces.

Hullo Cheekybean,

I'm in Scotland, so not in your area.
However, have you tried soaking the paper? If it goes moist there may be a better chance of peeling it off.

I love labradors. I have 2 cats as I'm in a town flat and don't think it's fair to keep a dog, but Labs are one of my favourite dog breeds.
Except for once when I did the breast cancer 'Race for Life'. When I set off, there was a beautiful chocolate lab ahead of me. And he finished ahead of me. O the shame.

Hi Cheeky

If you just keep the paper moist not wet you should be fine with the MDF I know what you mean it 'blows' when it soaks up too much moisture [hubby in the building trade] so just keep your soaking to a little area at a time or you could always try using a steam paper remover but it would still get wet to some extent

hi cheeky and welcome to the forum!! i'd go with soapy water, but not too much obviously.

you've found a greta place here and i'm sure you'll love it!! i do hope introduce your black lad to us in emporium island pets as we all introduce our babies there. my black lab alfie is in there although he is more round than lanky!! althou right now he is feeling sorry for himself as i noticed he chewed a chunk of fur of his back leg so took him to vet today. i think he is feeling much better and not so itchy now but feels rather violated and is very sleepy!! poor babe.

well back to dolls houses.....has anyone mentioned that we have a teeny weny thing about pictures???

Welcome to the forum, I have the same problem i have wallpaper i need to strip of i was thinking of trying just to try and and damp it to see if it will come of the problem for me is i'm not sure what it is stuck on with. Let me know if it works. We do love pictures on here to follow the progress.

Hi wombat my little babe is a westie and she does the same on here feet she is always biting them and licking them we were given some stuff to rub on them which stops the itching and it helps heal the sours.

Hullo there and welcome. I have a cat & a dog that are both into destroying my houses. My cat is the worse one of the two... he has no brains bless him... and adores to sleep in any house he can get to. At the moment he favours a glennowen store because the shop front is off (he ate the window):p My spaniel just sits and treads on things. She is big on chewing her paws too. I have given up, other than to occasionally trim the dreadlocks that form between her toes.:p If she chews her feet you can take a paw away, and she will chase after it till she gets posession back. Once soggy she starts on another....!

Copydex is a latex based glue. Not sure what will remove that. Try tugging on a corner that may ease it up, or using a scraper. Once you are under the glue it should come off. I doubt that spirit will work, or heat for that matter. I will ask my father - a guru of glue (he dealt in petrochemicals for years and knows most glues inside out).
