Gatehouse and beyond

I have been given the DHE Gatehouse kit and am looking forward to building it - but - I don't do ordianry! Got a few ideas for kit bashing and would gretly appreciate seeing what others have done with this kit. Thinking of cat based fantasy tower........with external lift????? Hmmm - any thoughts appreciated.

hi all,
ive got the gate house and i made mine into a stable/home out in the country.
i filled in the back arch and bought the stable door from dhe ..i cut the front pannel in 1/2 and put the stable door in front arch by making it bigger, i put hinge on top door so u can open to see a kitchen/living room.
the bottom stable part is glued in place as the doors on stable open enough to see inside.
on the middle floor i bought the country door and cut hole in side for it to fit and made a balcony and put stairs for access to the home.
on top floor is the bedroom to get up to the bedroom i cut a square hole in floor/kitchen/living room celing and made a ladder to get up there.
out side i put bricks down infront of stable doors for the horse at 1 side ive got a vegtable patch and at front i also have a sitting area with a pond..on other side i have the outside toilet and lots of trees at back of it i have mole hills with moles coming out of them and a pig laying on the grass.
where ever i go im always looking out for bits i can use on my dolls houses and i got the pig from a 2nd hand shop for 30p and he`s perfect size.
it was a lot of work converting the gate house but i really enjoyed the project and i love the outcome.
i hope this gives you some ideas but if your thinkin of diff doors or windows then i surgest you make your mind up before you glue together as its easier to cut while flat packed.:) always dry build and let your imagination run wild lol:D good luck:)

Hows it going with your fantasy tower, do you have any pictures, I would love to see the lift , sounds a great idea. :D

Have you taken a look at sharens gatehouse...........WOW...its fantastic.
