What is your ultimate fantasy dolls house? A Tudor palace complete with historial artifacts? The perfect modern space-age home, or maybe a lifelike re-creation of a family favourite from film or TV, We're waiting to hear what YOU dream of collecting.....
Hi Jenny Firstly i just want to say how great the dools house emporium is. It's lovely to find a site to discuss dolls houses too! I think my dream house would be a large tudor house much like stratford place. it would have all the right features inside too.

Hi Suz, and welcome to the group, it's always great to hear from fellow enthusiasts.
I've always really liked the idea of having a canal boat dolls house with lots of diffferent areas for the kitchen, bathroom & bedroom etc.

Hi all,
My dream house would be one with lots of rooms with space to put a garden and a swimming pool................but for something different I think I'd like to have a caravan, not the old gypsy style, but a modern one, a tourer or a static, with a layout that you could swap and change. Not conventional but it would be different. :p

I wouldn't call it my 'dream house', but I'd love to do a haunted house, I think that could let loose the creative juices! lol. It would be a typical scary old mansion: old, dirty wallpaper peeling off in places, a door hidden in pannelled walls that leads to a secret room, (have to find a way to conceal the room and then 'reveal' it), shabby mirrors with strange reflections in them (!), an attic full of old photo albums and letters, a face peeking out of the window in the attic but nobody actually in there, maybe even a graveyard instead of a garden, oh now I'm just rambling on! lol.

I seen a 1/12th scale light house on Saturday in Bournmouth it was very tall and had rooms of a good size it was £150.00, if I can remember the name of the shop I will put it up for you.

Hi all
My ultimate dream house would be Ashworth Grange, from the Dollshouse Builder, and to deck it out as if there was a masked ball going on, with the servants getting up to mischeif and the children looking over the balconies!!! Ah sigh!! and a huge banquet laid out in the dinning room and real music piped in!! Well a girl can dream can't she???

After sweet talking hubby giggle and him bartering with the guy I became the proud owner of the shops. His things are very well made and it’s worth watching him on Ebay too, he often puts some of his bits on there and if you catch him at a fair, barter with him!!

So I will stick with my dream I did manage to get the M/Snellgrove it is all I need as can change the shop to a variety of businesses and as really can accomadate only one house space wise am happy with my choice. That is not to say I may manage just to squeeze in a very small one like the Gate House at a later date. I rather like the idea of an animal family living there like the one I posted recently.:)

Hi Jenny, my dream would be to create a replica of my grandads miners cottage where I spent many a happy day, fondest memory is of grandad bringing through the blue and white enamel mugs from the tiny kitchen in his shaking old hands you could hear him all over the house, the main hub of the house was a large room with a big black cooking range fire, large wooden table, and the clippy mat frame stored away in the corner, everyone sat around this frame of an evening making clippy or proggy mats while listening to the old crackerly radio, the front parlour was like a secret room to us kids as we were never allowed to go in there, but we all at some point dared to open the door and peek in, a very quiet peaceful room with an upright piano on one wall, the inevetable tall plant stand with aspedestra perched on top, a large sofa dominated the center of the room, and the wooden floorboards gleamed, a dark patterned clippy mat lay in front and the cast iron fireplace had a wooden fire screen with tapestry inset, the most stunning thing I remember in the room was a large vivid blue glass vase that perched on the windowsil and cast a beautiful blue beam into the room, the long hall with polished wooden floor was where my big black pram from my earlier days was kept.outside was a yard with the almost compulsary pigeon cree,(not that he ever had pigeons) then there was the wash house with large tin tub and poss stick, and hanging on the wall was the tin bath, last of all was the most frightening part of the cottage for me the outside toilet  complete with torn sheets of newspaper tied with string, a large gap at the bottom of the door always caused me panick incase anything came crawling underneath it and of course the big old spiders that called this place home, I havent mensioned the bedroom as this is the one room I never did see into.

Hiya Amanda
Well, I guessed you’d have a place for it lol, you always find room for something you really want, I do anyway lol I hope one day you too get your dream house!
Was funny last night, hubby had to go out and I was on the dolls house builder site when he came back. He looked at me and said “what are you looking at now”, I calmly turned to him and said I was organising what I was buying at the NEC….he said “and that is exactly what”………giggle he don’t trust me…………….so I told him I had written to Mark inquiring if he has any more photo’s of his Trellis garden. I WILL be buying either the Trellis garden or the Garden base & Pergola to go in my Ashcombe Manor cupboard (yes either will fit lol and will sit nicely on the pull out shelves) but haven’t made my mind up on which yet. I love the Garden base but prefer the trellis to the Pergola, typical of me.
If I organise it now I can pay and pick up at the NEC, also Mark owes me the shop doors and internal doors for the Chester shops, so am hoping he has those for me too now as I really need them now. Hubby was impressed with me and liked what my plans were, I have so enjoyed doing my flowers for my florist and also the brick work. I can continue with both of these in the gardens and have a go at laying slabs and designing/dong it all as well. I love my ideas and the excitement they bring to me with this hobby, I can produce things that are impossible for me in real life and do a lot of things hubby usually says, oh you can’t do that! Lol and of cause I get to stay in the warm throughout it all.
Hiya Cookie, that would be so cool to produce all those memories in miniature!!

Hi Cookie that is one of my memories (not yourgrandads cottage) but the chats I had with the old miners when was living up in the North. They were great fellas and never stopped telling me how the "youngerns" miners of a few years ago had an easy life compared with them I did have to lol lol lol when you mentioned Poss sticks I thought what an earth were they were spoken of. proggy mats have seen them too in my friends cottages I visited.. Beamish have been there a few times and got a bit worried as had used some of the items there myself
If anyone is ever up in the Durham area Beamish open air museam is a place you must not miss, is really facinating. One thing also I remember is visiting the dentists room there I tell you am glad did not have any dental work done in that era

Hi Cookie - you have just brought back lots of memories for me. My Grandad was a miner in Ashington and their house was very similar to the one you described, complete with the aspedestra in the front room and the outside loo with newspaper. We had to go across the street to get to it, I think they were in little blocks of 4 with the house number on the door of the loo. Like you I can't remember the bedrooms - I used to sleep in the front room on the sofa.

Hi Cookie
I also remember my grandmother having an outside toilet with the gap under the door and I still hate creepy crawlies!!!!!
I also remember that she used to keep the floor cloth on the window sill outside the back door, I HATED with a passion having to get the cloth for her as all there were always loads of earwigs in them, I used to just drop it and scream, I have a passionate hate of earwigs to this day.
But I do remeber that my grandmother had a wringer which I loved to use on wash day, and I also remember using her poss stick, washing was so much more interesting then!!

My grandmother also used to have us stip cloth to make rags for our ringlets which she put in at night and took out in the morning, not very comfy to sleep in, but she enjoyed it, bless her cotton socks!! I have dreamed of a house, but not a house in the convential sense , A hollow tree, fitted out for a Fairy Queen along the lines of Titanias palace in Shakes spear , Midsummer Nights Dream made of gilded gossamer with be-jewelled walls of mother of pearl and windows in stained glass ,with little white Ivory pieces of furniture decorated in gold and silver, with a spiral stair case up the back wall. Fairy folk coming and going about their fairy business and little treasures like ruby slippers and closets of clothes made from spider webs and petal beds with silk sheets and water falls and singing trees and magical unicorns grazing lawns . I think I want a very modern architectural house with big windows. However there's not alot of furnishings available so it makes it difficult. I also want a nice conservatory/orangerie/wintergarden. I know there are many around but I haven't found one that I like so far.
I would also like to take bits and pieces from different houses. It would be fun to do like a small apartment complex. Or a chain or houses where you can mix according to your fantasy about a particular family. I know there are those available (via emporium for one) but I will know what I want when I see it.
I am not into history but I am thinking that maybe I'll do a house that is early this century that could have servants quarters, a maid and maybe a cook.
My dream house now though would be a house with a thorn room :). Also available but we shall see about it. Otherwise is would be one that you could switch stuff around. But one of the fun things about this hobby is that a doullhouse does put some constraints on how you do stuff in real life.

Hi Helen,
That is a beautiful house. Like you I would love to go inside and have a nosy around that one. You can just imagine the old comfy sofa and armchair, the large square table in the middle of the room. A dresser on the side wall. Coats hanging on the back of the door. Chickens in the kitchen. Oh I could go on and on about this one.

That is a really lovely house, but I don't think I'd like chickens in my kitchen!

Hi Ann,
That house is just like what I always imagined growing up, as what England was like. My greatgrandparent came from Henley-on-Thames, and Old Grandmother (what I called her) used to tell me stories about her life there, and that is how I imagined it when I was small. boy did I get a shock when I landed at Manchester Airport in 1996! lol
