Dolls House Shops?

Hi again

Everyone was a big help last time so thought I'd ask another question.... this one might not be a easy though....

I'll get straight to the point! Can anyone suggest or recommend any Dolls House shops in Leeds or places surrounding Leeds!?
The internet and the numerous catalouges I've got have been great but its not as good as seeing the real thing before you buy it!!!

York isn't too far from Leeds and there's a dollshouse shop there.

you could have a look in the back of some dolls house mags as thereare directories of shops in the back...if you don't buy them you could always just go into wh smith and flick through them to see if any are avertised that are near you!!

I would agree with Kath - The Miniature Scene in York is very good.

Don't know if you've found a good dolls house shop yet - but I'd echo the comments about Miniature Scene in York. I was there last weekend and it's a great shop - very helpful too. Lots of houses made up to look at including some DHE houses. They also sell DHE furniture. I spent ages in there as there is so much to look at - and it shouldn't be that far from Leeds.

Thanks for the advice about the Miniature Scene i haven't had a chance to visit it yet, but i've checked out their website it looks great deffinatley going there next weekend!

Oh and thanks Kath for the advice on the Shop in Dewsburry that is also on the list of places to visit this weekend!! ( Oh my boyfriends going to love me!!)

Hey Emily i've never heard of Mary Shortles in Leeds but i'm deffinatly checking it out next time i'm in town!!!

I heard about a few dolls house shops from family the past few days, thought i'd let you know about them....

theres a great one in Helmsley apparently run by an eldley couple, and if they don't have what you want they'll get it for you straight away!!

I also found a toy shop in Harrogate that has some great stuff, i spent ages in there!!

Hi Liz - the one in Harrogate which is The Rocking Horse isn't too bad but I know he is running his dolls house stock down because he wants to concentrate on toys. He says dolls house stuff takes up too much room. The one in York is much better - I'm sure you will enjoy a visit there. I have seen the one in Helmsley but at that time I hadn't got into dolls houses. Hubby has an aunt over there and he usually visits during the run up to Xmas so I'm hoping for a visit.
