Magnificent Miniatures: Inspiration and Technique for Grand Houses on a Small Scale
by Kevin Mulvany and Susie Rogers
Hardcover: 144 pages
Publisher: Batsford; New edition edition (1 Sep 2008)
Language English
ISBN-10: 0713490594
ISBN-13: 978-0713490596
I know this book has been previewed in a few of the magazines just lately but omgoodness I've just got my copy and it's stunning. The attention to detail this team bring to their projects is inspiring.
If you want a book to just gaze in awe at, then this is the one for you. I took mine into work today and those in the office who saw it couldn't believe it was photos of miniatures, one male colleague actually said 'now i know why a grown woman still plays with dolls houses' he has always thought I'm nuts until he saw what is possible. Although he did say that my hobby should be renamed 'architectural models of living history'!!
I think the book is worth a look and hopefully local libraries will get it in as it's going to appeal to design, architecture students as well as us DHA's!
