Hi Helen,
Can only speak for myself but if you've seen mine I used the flooring that comes in sheets, its stuck on an adhesive back. I just cut it to size, varnished it, and stuck it in. There's alot of different types of wood floor now out there.

Hi Helen,
You can buy sheets of wood strip which you can stain or varnish to a colour you want. These cost anything from about £7 to £11 Or you could make your own. I made my own, which you can see on my Rainbow View thread, from wood strips you can buy from Hobbys catalogue for about £4.50, cut them to size and stuck them to a sheet of paper or card, then stained them. Easy.

in my tower i wood stained a piece of card and then marked floor boards before glueing in place. in southover i wood stained card and cut into strips and glued....the tower way worked best and if you use a stiff brush it gives a grainy effect and is super cheap effect!!! i've also seen wood floors done with lolly pop stcks and the iron on veneer strips you can get. both of which look great

Hi Helen,
I've not used this yet but the cheapest wood flooring sheet (adhesive backed) I've found is from Matlock Miniatures, £4.50 a sheet or 5 sheets for £20. It's a nice large size as well. http://www.matlockminiatures.com/Shop/index1.html look under diy components.

It is a bit hard to position but it looks so real!
