O.K. After having a very stressfull year, my husband has bought me a 'mayfair' dolls house kit to start a new hobby. I am having a few problems though. some internet sites say that it is victorian and others say it is georgian. Although I don't know where to start with it all, I want to make sure I get the style right. Can anyone advise me on what it is? Thanks, Tammy xxx:confused:

Hi Tammy,

Welcome to the asylum, sorry, forum. I am not sure what the Mayfair looks like, but I am sure someone will be along soon to answer your era question.

Hope you enjoy being on here, we have lots of people who like to chat, and sometimes they talk about Dolls Houses. Enjoy.

Ann

Hi Ann,
Thanks for your reply. I can chat all day long, so this seems the best place for me to be! :D

Hi Angel

http://th148.photobucket.com/albums/s1/doggidogdog/th_Hydrangea-Angel_header.gif (http://photobucket.com/image/welcome%20angel/doggidogdog/Hydrangea-Angel_header.gif?o=38) to the forum. there are a few of us who have the Mayfair myself included [renamed Thornfield Hall] I am doing mine in the Regency Period but there are loads of different eras being done with this house from modern to period, what you maybe need to do is sit and stare at it for a while and think which era you most like also take a look at Home Sweet Home where all our houses have pictures you will get some ideas there, my house is in my profile album

Hiya,
WOW your pictures are beautiful! That is exactly the look I want. I am a true lover of period dramas and have just finished reading Jane Eyre. I haven't got the basement for the house yet, but I really want to get it now. You have done an amazing job, well done!

Hi Angel

Thank you for the compliment, glad you like it, the house really does lend itself to this period

Not finished yet, but I am enjoying this period tremendously it is just so elegant but light too, Jane Eyre is my favourite book that is where the name for the house came from

I am doing mine one floor at a time, which I have found just as well as the rooms are quite deep so easier to get into the back of the room and you can do the ceilings before you put the next floor on makes life so much easier.
