Hi I'm new to this and have just got my first dolls house at the age of 50+.

I am so excited and have been reading your threads to see what you are all up to. You all seem very knowledgable and experienced and ylur houses are wonderful, and I need help.

My house is a Classique Colonial, six rooms with a central staircase. (I will try to put some photos on soon). I have painted the outside pale grey with a dark grey roof and white winows and trim. My problem is the inside. I though of going sort of " American Country" with pine furniture and patchwork quilts. But then I thought what about "Southern Plantation" style, with chanderliers and light furniture. I have thought about it so much I've confused myself, and now can't decide what to do at all.

Has anyone out there done a colonial style house...........someone must have.........please give me some advice and your thoughts on what I should do.

Thanks loads
Lindyp

Hiya Lindyp,
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d39/wifey2709/Wel015.gif

to the forum! I have done 2 american colonial houses, but that was 20 years ago! I think by the style you describe of the house, the country/colonial theme would suit the building better. But then the beauty of this hobby is you can do anything you please! If you want plantation interior go for it! Its really down to what will please you.

Hi Lindy

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g23/mommacomet/siggys/welcome.jpgforum, not had any experience with this type of style yet, so will look forward to seeing what you decide on, I would say one thing though STARING is something all DHA's do a lot of, it helps with this sort of dilemma

Welcome to the forums Lindyp,

Keep staring at your house, what you want to do will come to you eventually and these houses are incline to talk back to you and tell you what they want often too.
