As you become more involved with the dolls' house hobby, you will begin to see everyday objects in a whole new light. It is worthwhile to start a 'Useful Box' of odments, as they are sure to come in handy. These items will be found by chance, and it is always good to have a collection of useful looking components to hand.
Linen handkerchiefs
Small cotton doilies
Small ornaments and souvenirs
Table mats and runners ( useful as small carpets and rugs )
Magazine clippings ( these often show items in a tiny size, just right for doll's house use )
Cheap brass miniatures
Plastic novelties ( Christmas cracker gifts when painted can be very effective )
Cake decorations
Old plastic containers and lids ( lipstick cases and make up trays can be useful for accessories )
