Default lighting tip

I have been given a really good tip on getting lights to stay fixed to the ceiling, don't know if anyone else has the same problem with the sticky bits losing the sticky and the lights coming away. If you take the foam pad off completely use superglue gel they stay put. Also when the pad is off you can shorten the wire if the lights hang too low

Hi Deedee I have done this in my house was so fed up with them falling down, only problem I suppose is if you have to take the light out for any reason.

I've done this too Deedee - those sticky pads don't last five minutes... And lots of the light fittings hang too low I think so it solves two problems doing this...

As a recent convert to gel, the diference I have noticed is that with normal superglue I end up with it everywhere and glue fingers to whatever I am trying to glue, plus the tube dries out between uses. The gel is a gel (obviously ) and one blob can be carefully placed where you want it and it stays flexible in it's tube.

i always use the gel too, can get it in wilkinsons for 1 pound, only disadvantage is opening the tube, i always lose about a 1/4 of the tube when i break the seal. even with the loss its still better than the liquid
