Default Planning for the newbuild.

Hi, At the moment I am drawing up plans for my first project. I have room Dimensions as follows:-
Height 231mm, Width 266mm & Depth 351mm. Height 9ins, Width 10.5ins & Depth 13.75ins. Are these sizes ok? Look forward to your comments. As the project unfolds I will upload photos.

Hi Tony, Room sizes sound fine, how many rooms to you intend to have in the house and what style will it be. At some stage I would like to build my own house too, not sure when though

Hello TonyF

Good luck with your project and I'm looking forward to following it. Rooms sizes look about right (I'm just glad you put the measurements including feet and inches!). One thing though, if you wanted to include a picture rail or over door decoration you might consider a slight higher ceiling height. My Hambleton Hall has a ceiling height of 8" which doesn't allow for any of that.

Most of my houses have room height at 10 inches. Looking forward to watching your progress, would love to design my own house for hubby to build giggle least I honest!

10 inches would be a really good height for viewing too I think. My plans have 7 1/2 inch ceilings which I was struggling with for that reason but to change it changes the outside too much and loses the cottage effect.

In a late Victorian property you could probably have high ceilings.

Did you change your mind about a 1930s property or is this in addition? (Or have I got the wrong member )
