Oh what a shame you're do disappointed with your Sid Cooke Silver Jubilee. I have a few of their properties and I love them (see in my profile/albums) I have the forerunner of yours which was just called Jubilee House. I understand what you say about the windows, I was disappointed with the lack of trim for the inside too and it would have been nice for them to have been moulded on both sides - yes they are plastic but I like the detail and they paint nicely. Sometimes I find the 'opening' type windows are too bulky and prefer the scale of these Sid Cooke ones. All my properties from this company were bought prior to the change of ownership and I've been happy with them and chose them because of the architectural detailing. I do hope you can manage to get your kit together ok and enjoy it.

How disappointing

I've always thought they would be of outstanding quality given the prices charged.

I hope they sort it for you

News!!

I spoke to a very nice person at Sid Cooke's today & the upshot is, they're sending me a replacement base 3mm less than the original one.

He asked me to send photos of the problem & then looked at other Silver Jubilee kits which had been cut at the same time as mine.

I'm very happy that my problem was taken seriously & should be resolved in the next couple of days

Jackie

I'm glad you got it sorted.

At the Dolls house Fair in York, I was told by one of the exhibitors that Sid Cook retired and since then the dolls houses haven't been the same quality. I'm sure he said the shop had been sold so it's not even a family member that's taken it over.

Might be worth knowing for anyone considering buying their kits.

I read that a young couple had bought the company, so maybe they are still gaining experience. Thank goodness they are open to resolving problems so easily. (having spent countless hours on the phone recently to our telephone company who aren't happy to resolve problems, I appreciate that!)

You have probably done them a favour as well, if it an entire batch which has been cut with the same mistake.
