Question Fair at Soest, Germany

Pssst, is anyone coming over to Germany next weekend (29./30.May)?

It's "1:12 Messe" at Soest:

I'm sure I heard a lot of english there last year

Default Fairs.

I normally would have been at Soest but my hubby fell off his bike and broke his lower arm/wrist and as I don't drive I had to cancel, but heard lots of reports about it.

I should also have been to the York fair and had to cancel, hubby still not driving, but good friends phoned on Friday afternoon and said they would take us, we quickly arranged a B&B and had practically a full day in York Saturday and went to the fair Sunday.

What an experience being a visitor/customer instead of trading. Lots of decisions to be made, do we start at the top floor and work down? go around the outer stands and work towards the middle? cross of names of stands visited? all these new decisions!

Then I found out why customers often do impulse buying of the first item they see. I decided to wander around first then go back to buy....wrong...I didn't mark down where I had seen my miniatures, and had to walk back and forth, up and down stairs, wasting time..perhaps someone had already bought it???

By this time I found the tables too low..... back packs got in the way, saw a lady nearly knock someone over when she turned round.
Was slightly disappointed at the number of bought in miniatures at 'larger' stands these are often not in scale and the wrong colours, but then beginners usually start here and work towards the hand made.

Met with friends made of the years, chatted to standholders I knew, in fact had a great time, loved the fair as a visitor, and spent more than normal LOL.

Hazel.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned as there are sooo many posts and I have such little time to go through them

But there is a dolls house fair in Lincolnshire next Sunday - is there actually anyone here who lives in Lincolnshire? Or again, am I a Yellow-Belly-Loner

I live in Peterborough which is close to parts of Lincolnshire. I've been to this fair 3 times before Probably won't be going to this one though.

Peterborough!! I used to live near in Ruskington, near Sleaford. This fair you mean - is it the Woodhall Spa one?
