Hi I don't have many shops locally to buy material plenty of charity shops in the area though
I wanted some plain fabric and manged to get some in C&H fabrics . They sell it in small quanties 8" long 45 width and I paid £1 20 so was well pleased as was enough for my needs.

I would also suggest charity shops as you can get all sorts of different fabrics there for good prices. You can buy pillowcases and turn them into curtains and they only cost about 50p, and they will make several curtains.

I have been buying fat quarters from a craft shop as they come in a million different colours and patterns, and the patterns are tending to be small.

One shop that I go to will do about 10 or 20 cm. That doesn't work out too expensive. If you ask in a fabric shop they will tell you the smallest they will do.

Pillow cases are a good substitute if you are having trouble getting small amounts of material......and you would have enough left over to make curtains to match.....Dunelm have a good selection from time to time, in sale baskets, so not too expensive either.....
