Default Fairfield Gardens

Picked a name yey! I name this house Fairfield Gardens!!
Been beavering away here and I've got my windows and doors painted (apart from the front door) and stained and ceilings undercoated....marked up for all my picture rails (there's going to be loads of mitring) and in the dining room I've painted the frieze.
I've shown pictures of the dining room with the dividers stood in - this is how it is going to be. The wall with the fireplace will be having a chimmney breast and the opposite wall will have a single french door.
Here's the house in case you've forgotten which one I'm talking about.....

This is one of the bedrooms showing how I've marked a line for the picture rail so I know how far to paint down to for the frieze

This picture shows the dining room with the dividers in situ

My mind is buzzing with ideas for this little house - I already know which wallpapers I would like for most of the rooms....

Hi Kath

Gosh, you've been busy! Your ideas sound great and I love the fireplace. Really authentic. I like your choice of name as well. Is there a story behind it? I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Hi Kath,

Thank you for the picture fix. I think that is a really nice name for that house. It suits it. And your decorating plans sound wonderful. Look forward to seeing more of this.

Ann

Thanks DM I have had this fireplace for what seems like ages I just knew I'd get a house to fit around it one day
The choice of name - well I've always liked Fairbanks from starting out in this hobby but just knew it was far too big for our house to show it off to it's best. I feel Mountfield is a good compromise... so I chose a combination of the two names (Fairbanks and Mountfield) and added 'Garden'.... So I guess it has a little meaning for me personally....

Hi Kath

Yes, I like Fairfield. It seems to suit it! Good choice. You can almost see it in your mind's eye when it was built, in a quiet tree lined street (ok, so that's an avenue but gardens have trees too!). Wide roads, very few cars and Mrs closing the gate behind her as she went off to the shops with her good coat, hat and gloves on! Very Mrs Miniver don't you think?
