thanks Sandra,
the beams did come with the kit, well, a pile of wood did, this is what they give you along with the instructions. i then cut them to age them then had to cut them all to size, hence my comment earlier in this thread about no more beamed houses for a while lol

Have caught up again and I just love watching this house grow. The tiling is perfect with the humps in it. Can`t wait for the next photo fix.

heres how i have altered the attic, i have added the dividing wall to make it into 2 rooms, added the back wall to create the illusion of a hallway, boxed in the doorway to join it to the room next door. i have placed one false door into the back wall and cut the opening for the other one. i also moved the stairs from the back wall to dog leg around and down the left hand wall in the ground floor room on the right. this meant cutting a new opening in the floor. the previous one was not even big enough, my poor little people would have banged their heads on the ceiling after the second step

Hi Sal, The attic looks to be very promising, I have big plans for mine if I ever get there! Funny you should mention the opening for the stairs being small as I spent ages placing a doll on each stair tread to be sure there was enough head height when doing my stairs and landings. I have noticed in most houses this is not taken into account, or are we just picky?

rofl so did I !!!!!! We are not picky at all. i like realism, otherwise to me it's a dollshouse (a play thing) and not a miniature replica, which is what i want from my houses
