thank you Davidsmum, i am looking forward to thatching as i haven't done it before. will be interesting to see how it turns out. i think, having looked around that maple streets is the besti seen so far (page 51 in current catalogue)

spurred on by the pleasing results, i decided to crack on with tiling the porch and it went on so fast i even managed to get the lead flashing on too. i made it uneven by sticking a couple of randomly placed cocktail sticks onto the porch, before tiling, then laid a sheet of thin card over the top to create gentle slopes. then tiled over the whole thing. the glues still drying in a few places so ignore the white marks

Hi davidsmum,
i used the richard stacey weathered ones, they the same as on stratford, except on stratford i used the cleaner side because i didnt know which way around they were supposed to go

WOW It's brilliant, only just caught up with your thread sal, but it looks wonderful. Can I ask, did the beams come with the kit ? cant wait to watch your progress
