Default The Olde Coach Inn

I decided to dry build this today as i didn't want anything to warp. so here it is and all the bits to go on the outside. I was considering not butchering the outside wood pieces and going for the mock tudor look but then decided that if its authentic outside then in the future if i change my mind about the period inside I won't have to change the outside
the roof is made up of 10 pieces so i didnt even attempt to tape that all together for the dry build

and heres all the bits still to go on, and just asw i was typing this i realised under the house in the drawer is all the stair parts and chimney tops etc

this is a picture of what Maple Street have decorated theirs like

I love this house, hope to get myself sometime. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. What ideas have you got so far?

i love it too, as soon as i bought stratford i saw this one and knew i just had to have it one day

i am at struggling with 2 ideas at the moment, half of me wants to do ultra modern interior and the other half wants to do a thieves den/inn/pub theme set in early victorian, of course other ideas have been discarded and may raise their heads again. i was hoping it would become clear in my head after the dry build but it didn't, so many ideas but i cant formulate just one more staring needed i think

all that said i am ordering mountfield on thursday and i will definately do that either 60's or 70's or very modern, so i think ill probably go with the rogue's den idea

for the exterior i am still trying to decide whether to keep it as it is in the picture but with a thatched roof (thats my hubby's favourite) or my preference is the same but with herringbone brick between the wood on the ground floor. i was going to do my idea but then hubby made me doubt myself about whether it would look good or not. either way i am definately thatching the roof

i think the pub and thieves would best suit this build its one of those buildings im not sure about yet, but i think doing it modern would ruin the feel of the build , in my opionion regards julian

What a challenge this will be good luck with it. I think i would go quite traditional with this but that said it would be quite difficult to change in the future if you wanted.

haha, its catching, i have to sound my ides out here though because hubby really is bored of it with 3 new properties in 1 month

hmm a monastery army, now theres a thought.......are you thinking of something like the Templars? i would have to do a lot of research about monks armies and stuff, i just thought about the stained glass and pretty tiled floor lol.....

saying all this though medieval, or earlier is very time consuming, as i found with tudor....have to make most things myself and the i quite fancied not doing that again until i tackle my iron age roundhouse but the building would look stunning ......
