Hi Chaos, I know someone that has the priory,I loved it and had a look to see if it was still available but as you say disscontinued, it was her first house and a gift from her family, she says she was a little disappointed but I cant remember if it was that it had no internal stairs to rooms or no doors I would have to check which it was,Ididnt really take that much notice as I was already in love with the house itself, and It didnt really concern me as its nothing that couldnt be overcome, its a big house with generous room sizes and a wonderful entry hall, I loved it, but incase any of those things would disappoint you they could be planned into the house before you build.its a fabulous house so go on GET IT OUT OF THE BOX.

Thanks - very encouraging words!

Cookie - I can't wait to get it out f the box, but I have 2 'real' bedrooms to decorate asap - the beds are being delivered on Wednesday and I'm not sure where my kids are going to sleep if I don't get them done, so I need to get a 'wiggle on' (as an old teacher colleague says!) this weekend!

WaW - My house will definitely be Victorian - my other passion is family history - I'm back to 1650 on my family tree! My husband says I was born 100 years too late, so my house will be my ancestral home!

Hi Susan,

It sounds like you will have a lot of excellent ideas then, I imagine you must have heaps of research under your belt to take a family tree back so far!!

Can't wait for you to get stuck in so we can have a look at some photos

Hi forum!!!

I have to give my thanks to all of you for your beautiful words about my dollhouse. I am going to answer in this post to each of your questions...

WhatAWallie: You are right... I put a lot of "hard work" in my dollhouse... and I really loved to do it in that way... I enjoyed each minute in every single thing I made. I like your expression about feeling like a "fly in a real house wall"... that is exactly what I feel when I open my dollhouse and peek inside it!

Tinah: My dollhouse is almost finished. I just need the living and dining rooms' ceiling lamps, which I want them very fancy (and expensive!!!!) then, I left them for the last thing to buy, and maybe two rugs and a pair of wall lamps are left... and after obtaining those last things....all will be set!!! finally...

chaos2sg: I have always thought what your husband said to you: I was born 100-150 years later!!! When I open my dollhouse, very often...by the way!!! I imagine myself living inside it in the Victorian Era!!! I have read a lot about the English Victorian era...and my imagination flies for hours, placing me in the middle of all that amazing history time... Be sure that your still-in-the box dollhouse will be all completed. I was amazed when I received mine from that other side of the world and all was perfectly in its place and the easy-to-follow instructions to assemble it. I was terrified just to think that I was so far from England and that it would be so difficult for me to catch things what they have to be... but internet and reading books, magazines, etc. involved me and I immediately entered into this fascinating world of the Victorian Era, miniature and dollhouse hobby. So, get start now...

Thanks cookie and twirl for your encouraging words!!!

St. Vale: For now, I am not planning any new project. As I have posted before, in my country we do not have this kind of beautiful things, and it is being very hard (and very expensive!!!) for me to find all the great things I got... but, maybe some day?

To all of you, thanks again... I will keep in touch with this amazing forum. Just one thing... I bet you will be laughing about my question? Sorry...but, what "lol" means? I have read that expression in so many of your postings, but as you know... Spanish is my native language, and I am now studying English ...(I can say that maybe this could be my next project.: .. to master the English language), and I could not find the meaning of "lol" anywhere!!!

Bye to all!!!

I am new to this 'forum malarky' but, after reading the posts for a couple of weeks have decided that you are a friendly bunch, so have plucked up the courage to post!

One of my queries was about decorating the inside of the house front - I have had my house about 4 years and it's still in the box! (I lead a VERY busy life!) I have decided that this year I will DEFINITELY get it put together and decorated. However, I am a teacher (off school today) so I'll probably have to wait until the Summer break. The other problem I have is that my house, The Priory, from DHE, is no longer made by them, so I have my fingers crossed that all the pieces will be there when I open the boxes!!!

Vanezza's house looks great with the inside door decorated, so I was wondering what other people thought about the pros and cons of doing this- would I be better off just painting it white?

All advice greatly received - and if you can give me some more hours in the day that would be fantastic!!

Hi Susan

Welcome to the forum, and I would urge you to make some more time, you have to have time to get that house out and get started because once started it becomes an addiction, I am coming to the final floor of my house and because of this have started to go soooo much slloowweerr, as I dont want to finish, mind you I still have all the outside pavement garden, flowers etc., etc., mmm maybe I won't slow down, but you do need a hobby if you are always busy, as for decorating the front door I think it looks great, but have painted mine white, as I did not get enough paper, I may go back to it later and put paper on, its really only what you want that will limit what you can do!!! so go for it

Well Vanezza

Oh boy your house is just fantastic, so much detail and it looks so lived in I do love all your personal touches with the lace it all looks so pretty and you must have worked really hard to get it all done so well, I am so impressed, such a clever idea to decorate the doors with bits of furniture, like others have said more to put into the house. so once again really well done
