Here's another attempt at adding a photo to the forum.

Just a quick note to say that the bakery's second (and final) stage is now complete!

More photos are on Flickr HERE

Now it's time to try and stop myself going completely overboard on my next project!

That is really lovely, celestial. You should be proud of it.

Obviously you are naturally creative, but I wondered if living in Australia where there isn't the readiness of dolls house paraphernalia there is in the UK and US, forces you to extend that creativity a bit more?

Don't fool yourself either - your next project will be just as elaborate! I don't think you would be satisfied with less.

A beautiful house and all credit to you for making your own things and customising your dolls. It just goes to show how much time and effort you have put into this. Great job well done, looking forward to your next project already.

Yes, living in Australia does have it's disadvantages. For example, it is virtually impossible to find any miniatures suitable for pre-victorian era settings locally and DIY supplies are few and far between. Plus there aren't any dollshouse shops in my area, I buy everything online (thank goodness for the internet!). After you add the cost of postage from mainland Aus. or from the UK or US, it can make things very expensive, plus Australia Post can win awards for the amount of mail they lose, so there really is no guarentee when or if an order will arrive.

So the short answer is yes, my geographic location has probably forced me to improvise more than I might have done if I lived "up north". Plus I'm too cheap to pay some of the prices being asked and too impatient to wait for something to arrive in the mail.

And my next project is already shaping up to be too elaborate - and too large! I've added a post about it on my blog Here if you want to take a look and see what I mean.

HI I started from the begining of your thread your work is truely amazing. You have possibly said in your blog but how did you do your "oven" brickwork".

I agree with Bluebird you have natually aquired talents, possibly more so since as you say you have to "find a way" to achive something.
The research too must have taken a while. But as they say where they is a will there is a way and you certainly have found that.
Well done.

PS I know is said to be hot in Aus but think your fella requires some clothes and maybe go to a barbie party to fatten him up
