Default My Hambleton Hall

Hello everyone,

I've not been on this forum for ages...had a long stint away from my doll's house.

Anyhow, I have recently fully decorated my first room and wanted to share it. I'd appreciate any comments/criticisms. This is the dining room. I'm going to do the drawing room over Christmas hopefully.

Hi therre
Your room looks great, especially the flooring. Did you do it yourself or was it ready made?

Thanks

I bought the real wooden flooring and applied a couple of layers of woodstain to darken it further and make it shiny. I did the skirting to match and the coving is just painted with gold acryllic. It was my first time using the mitre box, so I'm glad it worked out.

I now need to find somewhere I can buy a miniature moose or stag head to go over the fireplace

Oh Gosh - I've seen one somewhere, but I'm blowed if I can remember where - sorry!

Ps - there's one on DHE, but the one I saw was on Ebay, by Gransemporium. She's a lady who has loads of "odd" things. If you look her up under sellers, you may be able to email her, and get another one. Hope it helps

Thanks for your comments.

I know, I thought gold would look a bit odd for the coving, but it seems to work. I wanted each room to have a very distinct character and nothing else seemed to go. I originally had white plaster coving with gold details, but it clashed horribly so it's going in the drawling room instead.

10 more rooms to go!

Thanks for the links
