Post Kelly's Cauldron Update!!

I'm making slow but steady progress on the castle.
A new front has been cut to size and is waiting to be assembled. A new window has been fitted in the new front and I just have to cut a hole for the door then I can assemble it all.

I do need to decide on the colour for the castle...I have a tin of cream, a tin of lilac, a tin of purple, a small tube of dark green and a small tube of grey (there is not enough grey to paint the walls.)

I am going to use a realistic brick compound and stencil on the walls.....the compound is white, I can leave it white or mix it in with one of the colours above, I need to decide on the colour for the compound and the colour of the spacing inbetween. I would also need a colour for the roof of the tower and the window.......opinions please!!

Hello to anyone who may read this.......

well an update has been a while coming I'll admit but I am finally making some progress with the castle even if it is slow.
I have tiled the roof of the tower with black card, still debating whether to leave it black and spooky or whether to paint it grey
I have also started to 'stone' the front, I've been using a realistic compound which makes a nice stone affect....will need painting when finished!

Hello mini_monster,

It's coming along really well. I like the stone effect, I've used that myself.

Hi, your castle is taking shape now, well done on the roof, I made my own tiles from thick card too, I would suggest painting your roof as the white edges are visable... your stone compound looks really good... how about painting the walls in pale grey or lilac and then highlight some stones in a darker lavendar and window frames the same lavendar? It would give it a realistic look with some fantasy too.

It is looking really good, mini moster and I wouldn't have thought your progress was slow.

Hi mini monster,

The castle is looking great. It will be fabulous when it's finished.
