What i found was a bonus is that they are real wood not mdf so can be stained with wood stain. Much nicer to work with than mdf stairs.

I didn't realise they weren't MDF, yes i agree a definite bonus I think MDF is fine for the main parts but for other bits i agree, it makes it easier to paint/stain if its not MDF.

Still working on the panelling, trying to get it to look ok and not just like lolly sticks!

I was really disappointed with the stairs in my Holme Lodge, the basement stairs are wooden and really nice, the other levels are white painted and I didn't realise how awful they look till they were all in place and I don't feel like ripping the whole thing apart.

Did you get your house quick style? What a shame you dont like them, stairs are one of those things that just cant be changed easily.
