Hi Dawn56 - welcome to the forum. Maybe a picture would help us to understand what you mean.

Hi Joe

Ok, its Magpies and I am trying to decorate the middle floor but I dont know how to deal with the stairs between the bottom floor and the middle floor, My first thought was skirting and coving to each edge of the hole for the stairs but with the different wallpapers for each floor i am not sure where the wallpaper should finish and start the other. Also am i dealing with the skirting/coving correctly? i will also have the same problem with the kitchen and the top floor.

Hi Dawn, what you do is you need to take the bottom floor wallpaper to the ceiling and stop it there but on the middle floor you start it from the floor then you add the skirting straight but if i was you don't use and coving on the wall of the stairs because its not needed
hope this help and if its not clear just let me know

I have attached a bad photo (hopefully) these are not the wallpapers being used but they show the gap between the two papers and the problem with the steps and the skirting. hopefully this photo shows my problems

you could either paint it cream, take the middle floor paper down or meet in the middle - which i think will be the best thing to do with it

Ah I see what you mean, you have a gap of the floor depth......mmmmm.......think if it were me I would take both the skirtings straight into the corner. And wallpaper that lower room up to the skirting!

Oh welcome to the forums!
