Default DIY sylvanian love heart tree and other garden plants

These are quite easy to make For Sylvanian families or 12th scale miniatures.

Make a whimsical Sylvanian love heart tree or tea fern

To make this you will need,
Stiff wire,
Masking tape (preferably 2 inch wide)
Acrylic paints of your choice (satin finish is best) The pictures below explain the method.
Lots of different plants can be made using this method!!!

Fold masking tape over the wire.

Put your desired shape.

Paint the leaf and the wire!

Assemble!

The last plant is made using the same method.

There are bigger photos and a full tutorial on my website in the DIY Zone.

They're lovely Patty. I use the same method but with floral tape (its already green) for smaller leaved plants and I paint a sheet of A4 green on both sides for larger leaved plants.

Thanks Diane and Jo,
They are really easy to make...........Any sort of leaf shapes would work! I paint after cutting then the white edges don't show on photos. Masking tape has a lovely leathery finish when painted with satin Acrylic. Thanks for your tips Jo!

Maxie is very good at watering plants!
I got my acrylic paints from the pound shop and on smoothish surfaces the paint gives a nice satin finish which makes the masking tape look like real leaves. I do think Kaitlyn could do these .....I have made i as simple as possible because plants are hard to make and even though my eyesight is getting worse. I can still have a go at a miniature and make it whimsical
Please let us know how Kaitlyn gets on with making her own version of them.
