Garden idea........

.....i bought some galvanised wire netting and pliers from 1 shop today......i was hoping to get an ivy flower punch from our craft shop but they had none in....also no masking tape in the 1 shop to make the leaves or foliage with.........so this is all i can do,the wire is easy to cut with pliers..i did want to make an archway full of ivy after seeing one of our member's gardens :D.......:-B.....and thought if i wrapped the garden ties inbetween the gaps,i could stick the individual leaves and flowers to them............i also want it growing around a house front but don't want to ruin the front of house itself with lots of glue so i will probably cut perspex to the shape i want it,then stick the leaves to that..this will be detatchable so can he used for other things if you want a change.........will update when i get the punch and masking tape.....hope you try it yourselves folks..:)
..the wire should work for your papier mache projects too....

...i'm going to check out ebay and get a few punches...leaves and petals.....and have a bash.....i have some wood shavings in a box that are quite chunky...(they were intended for a log fire!!!!.).i may have read on this forum that if you paint them green with a hint of yellowish in the middle you can pot them up and make some yukka type plants with them......;).......you could probably paint the curly ones a burgundy colour like those 'spanish dagger'..? type plants...or just use masking tape as a few people on here have done...

maybe a daft question.......do i have to double fold masking tape to use with punch ie two sticky sides together....will this clog the cutting edge of the punch ?......need some foilage for the florist as at the moment only have bouquets to go in when ready

Sue have you tried that railway modelers foliage that you can stretch and pull to different shapes. I used it to make a tree shaped climber by sticking some padding on the roof and stretching it over the top.
Here's a link to the stuff, its called microflor and can be pulled apart and used in small bits.
Westminster Minatures: HK 1600, Wild Grass Loose & Mats

Here's a pic from La Luciole showing where I used it on the tree shape on the left.

...thanx all...hi JO....yes i have bought some railway foliage from a modellers shop b4..its very old and i need a new stash...yours looks better stuff ....will have another look...................:D
hi Sharon...i've never used the punches b4 but i imagine yes to the folding over(have you seen PATTY and DOLLY DONUTS blooms...someone has a flower tutorial on here....)they say to use coloured paper and tissue, crpaier paper..?....looking forward to having a go at,think i will paint it first, then punch....don't fancu hundreds of little leaves cut out then painting them......

Sue, this stuff is not the loose crumbly foliage its a mesh sheet with foliage stuck on it so you can cut it and stretch it thin if you like.

..ooh blimey..have'nt seen that b4...sounds good....i will have to order some of that soon...thanx very much for letting me know.....how are your cdreations coming on?:D

I'm fighting with mitres at the moment Sue.

Managed to re-wallpaper the bit I made a complete mess of the other day, stuck a light to it, knocked the light off and tore the new wallpaper. Repaired all of that reasonably well but now I'm trying to finish off the floors and what's left is a very odd shaped bit - hence the mitre problem.
