Default More Topiary

Just finished a few more topiary
trees for my Waterside Way.

The round ones are made from
polystyrene balls painted all over with
PVA glue and covered in scenic scatter.
Nothing new about that, but I gave these
a second coat of scatter (even though the
first coat looked fine), just to see if it
would make any difference. I think it has
created a better texture.

The twisty ones are made from foam covered
wire, twisted into shape and
coated with scatter as above. I don't know
what the foam covered wire is called -
I bought it in a sale at a floristry
place and the original wrapper was missing.

Excuse the photo, just finished these and
the tea leaf "compost" needs tidying up and the trees
are not standing completely straight.

Those are lovely Elaine. I am going to have a go but I haven't seen any polystyrene balls for sale. I suppose you get them from somewhere like hobbycraft?

Very nice Elaine especially the spiral ones. Great idea to use that foam coated stuff. I think its for tying in climbers in real life as I've just bought some but I never thought to use it for minis.

Thank you, glad you like them.

The balls came from an ebay shop,
you can get all sizes, and the postage
wasn't bad as they are so light.

Thanks, I think you must be right about the stuff must being for tying in
climbers, I have seen rolls of similar stuff. Don't know why it was in a florists' wholesaler's.
