Default what to use for compost, please?

Hi,
I have just made a couple of the Jane Harrop windowbox kits and now need to fill them, can anyone advise me what to use for compost and if it needs any sort of treatment before I use it. Thanks.

I have made lots of window boxes and I put oasis in the bottom and glue dry tea leaves on the top before I put the flowers in.

I use air dry clay, pressed down and then I plant the flowers befor it hardens.
I also put tacky glue on the clay and sprinkle with tea leaves.

I use the tea out of tea bags mixed with watered down PVA glue.

Thanks for your replies Do you need to microwave the tealeaves or anything and could I use peppermint tea as we don't 't drink real (black) tea?

I usually just let them dry out and I'm sure green tea would be fine.
My first plant I used coffee (granulated instant) which looked wonderful for about an hour after which it became a horrid sticky mess.

I use dried coffee grounds - keep a jam jar full of them. They have to be completely dried out after use or they will go mouldy when you store them.

I needed quite a lot of compost for my garden so I bought a bag of soil scatter from a modelling shop on e-bay. A bag at 1.99 goes a long way.
