Default Not sure how to do the flowers for the front of my house

So I have a plan to make little "beds" that will attach (with putty) to the front of my house. More on this here: Hedge on house--can't figure out how to do this . I show a mockup of how I'll do it on that thread. Since then, I've decided to use foam core instead of wood (as it's lighter). I have the wrought iron fence that will go in the front. Edging will be egg carton stone that matches the front step. I have hedges that will attach to the back of the "bed" piece.

What I want in the front is a narrow bed of flowers. I found this site that has a lot for sale:

Dollhouse miniature FLOWER LEAF STEMS & BOUQUETS | Miniature MarketPlace

But I have NO IDEA what to get. NO IDEA what would look good. And I really don't want to spend a ton of money, either. There are 2 beds, each about 9" long. The room left for flowers, after the hedges are in, is minimal--1/2" at most.

Any suggestions?? I've never been able to do garden design in the real world either. Hoping someone can say, "Get X stems of this, X stems of that, X stems of this, and arrange them thusly."

Thanks!

Those flowers are pretty pricey, plus you have to add leaves to make a proper plant. Would you be interested in making up kits? That would be my suggestion. Or buy some paper punches and make up your own. There are plenty of tutorials around, just search on Pinterest. To add fill between plants so you don't see the board underneath (and to reduce the amount of plants you'd need) you could add a little green fluffy stuff - that model railroad landscape stuff, or fake/dried moss or other floral supplies. Some people get small flowers and leaves from real life artificial floral stems.

As for your own preference, think of a colour you like, or real life flowers you like and get those.

i thought that it would cost quite a bit to do a couple of beds from that supplier....although probably great for the odd case etc....it you fancy making some there are some good kits available I've purchased a few from etsy alternatively as above make your own from paper.....ive often used cheap ones that are made for card making.....used some lovely roses...some were a bit big so simply took off a few outer petals.....you've got me thinking now may have to make a few for when I get the florist shop unpacked

....the kits are great to have ,paper punches are great to have from as little as £1 upwards....coloured papers can be cheap, you can use the silk flowers from charity shops,£shops..also the auquarium plants...i tried to punch the matiariels through the paper punches just to see if it would take but it did'nt so not worth doing that ....you could also get some sponges and paint them greens, reds, orange, browns and also buy the sprinkle grasses etc for railway scenery..

with the green and red aquarium plants i bought 2 get one free from petworld....they are pricey at £8 each but with one free they came to just over £5 each..still pricey but they look good.
..you can buy card making flowers in white and pink from £shop, airfreshners with lavender flowers as display you can use.
..hobbygraft sell wedding flowers for your lapels and table decoration so some of those are usable

I've looked at the kits but they seem expensive as well. And by the time you buy a bunch of different paper punches, you've spent a lot. I can't find punches here cheaply, at least not the ones I would want. I feel unconfident about making flowers.

I don't know. I'm stymied hee and unable to proceed until I resolve the flower issue.

All the plastic flowers I've seen don't have small enough leaves for minis. Silk ones either. Or they look too fake. I feel kind of stuck!

thats is a shame...but i know what you mean....the only other method i can think of is to buy airdrying clays or polymer clays, buy some metal or plastic cutouts for cakes..or the silicon molds and try that way....if you get them small enough....i have some for making mini airdrying cakes and flowers....(do not use them for food and clay).

My friend has just made me some tiny flowers for my café tables. Can you get Flowersoft there? She used some thin florists wire, glued the end, then dipped into the flowersoft, and repeated until she got the flowers the right size. For the leaves she used small ones from silk flowers and cut them down even more til they were tiny. I'll try to put a picture up later. Don't know if it will be any good for what you want.
