It really depends what you want to print Joe, if it is pictures for frames, just find a pic you want to use, cut n paste it into a word doc. Then if you click the pic you get a dotted line around the edge which you can resize the pic with! Just make sure the screen is set at 100% and guess the size, it ususally works for me!

Books are a little more tricky as you need a back and spine as well as a front, I place these into a word doc side by side but make sure you get them the right way round otherwise your book will be back to front and yes I have done that myself before doh lol.

Hi Joe,
the word.doc works fine for pictures as above mention just click it on then right mouse-key: windows pops up there you can set the right size (at least for hight or width).
If you like to do simple books or magazine (like the ones I did for my travel-agency and witchtower) which you can open:
Witchtower-book on bench: open word.doc, start a table with as much cells as you want; into the first two paste back-cover, frontcover (size them with methode above - I found out a got size for normal magazines are about 2cm hight), and fill the other cells with text. You have to set all cells on a defined width so all pages are the same size. Needs just a little try&error
Or if you like a "real" magazin like my travel-catalogue (that's actually a copy of a real one!): open word.doc and paste all pages in one row - as soon as you change them to correct size they'll line up neatly (Just remember first the back-cover then the front cover and than all pages you wanr. after printing just cut out the strip and than fold them along the pagees like aconcertina, add glue and ready.
Hope this helps - better at showing than explaning in english

Wink simple books with real cover

Just remembered another simple way for non-opening books (especially thick ones ):
Print cover -maybe from online store- and "fill" it with balsa wood (see pic from MiniMundus), for a nice look just cut the wood-strip a little bit smaller than the cover (makes it look more realistic ) and use some gold paint-pen for the sides (of the pages) or light-beige.
My witch got so her Terry Pratchett-books next to the night-table (sorry no good pic of it in my album )

Look at the new House pics, it's the leftside attachment (NH11 to NH13, sorry, have to look for better ones ), that's my travel agency. The catalogues, maps, posters and even the painting of the pyramids over the desk are all from the net.
The advertisment stuff (e.g. elephant) are from cheap knick-kack-shops ->great source for little unusual stuff
