Default Lighting confusion

I've recently decided to update a doll's house and among my plans is to change the lighting from battery to electric.
I'm getting a wiring kit which seems fairly straightforward (I hope!!) but the down side is I will be left with a bunch of battery powered lights I will no longer use.
Apart from the obvious idea of sticking with batteries (too dim and too fiddly to switch each one on individually) does anyone know if there is a way of rewiring battery powered lights so they run off the electric system?
I suspect not but live in hope!!
