Default Gold Paint

Can anyone recommend a good metallic gold paint to add some bling to wooden wainscot please? The paint I have used to highlight details on plaster ceiling roses is no use on wood. Also any other recommendations for gold paint on plaster cornice etc

I canít recommend it as I havenít used it but you can buy gold leaf paint, or go the old fashioned way of actually using gold leaf. I use a cheap Folkart gold paint on all sorts of surfaces without any problems, but I usually need a few coats.

DecoArt make great acrylic paints in all colours, including some very nice metallics. I use a lot of them as they are water based and I hate having to clean brushes in white spirit. They're cheap and come in small sizes. Ebay or Amazon stock them as do lots of crafting stores.

If you're just after a highlighter, I find a stamp pad very useful - you can use them directly, with a bit of sponge or even a finger and just rub over the item to catch the relief details.

Hope that helps
