Default Fairbanks construction

Hi, I have just bought a kit from someone and found a few small trim pieces missing. Is anyone able to help with pictures/ideas for replacement of the mock tudor base sticks FB37 and FB38. They sit just below the eaves so wondering how deep they are meant to be. I was going to varnish these pieces so a bit upset it won't all match up. If possible could I have measurements of the wood required?

Hi, yes I think I have read every Fairbanks post there is! Unfortunately I haven't been able to see anything about these parts.

Hello. This is a great house. And it looks like the parts you need are just sticks. My recommendation is to measure the thickness of the pieces you do have (FB36) and buy some new ones. I buy lime wood from Cornwall Model Boats (google them). They have lots of different sizes and it is easy to cut.

You could contact the Dollshouse Emporium and see if they have some to send you.

Thank you, I will. I would like it to look as good as it can. My other dolls house has missing parts too and I have lost a bit if enthusiasm for it - must keep on with it though!

Yes keep going! I find enthusiasm waxes and wanes, but I always get back to a project. Sometimes you need a break.

I agree - they look like the same type of wood so you could get some that's the same width and thickness and then just cut to length.

Try not to get disheartened - every project has it's challenges!
