Default 2013 Creative Comp entry

Since Celestial has broken the ice with her reveal, l'll do the same.

l based my entry on the little Victorian cottage that belongs to Sandra Foster. If you google her name, it will come up with many images of her wonderful little cottage that she decorated all by herself.
Its very much shabby chic and white. Full but not cluttered...and white. Did l mention white? Thats not a colour l usually work with because l am basically a grub.
But white it was to be.

l added a lot more windows, a veranda and a gable section.

My trusty pencil holds the verandah roof!

Starting to take shape.

Heh heh. Looks a bit wild there!

Was surprising how everything just fell into place. l bought a 1/12th scale sofa but it wouldn't fit. Once put in the room, there was about half an inch either side and room for nothing else.
So....everything got made just for this one.

l think it was Jomed who gave us the link to making a sofa chair? That was a brillant link and on my fourth try, l actually created something that l were proud of.

So yeah...white....white everywhere. Once l made that sofa, l wrapped it up in a plastic bag and banned myself from touching it until the final photo shoot.
l was like a surgeon for a while there - scrubbing my hands 16 times before l remotely went close to the build.
l so don't do white! l live on a farm. l have grubby animals and dogs. And there was a bush burn off that produced the most ungodly amout of ash...so yeah...white! Pfft.

Anyway, here are some views of the rest of the build.

In memory of the wonderful old large banksia tree that was totally destroyed in the fires.

So there you have it. My entry (which is an awlful lot smaller than the monster that was Deyrolle , my last years effort).

Wow!! Things. You have transformed what I consider to be DHE's worst ever kit into a fabulous replica of Sandra Foster's tiny Victorian Cottage. I googled her and comparing the real thing and yours, its difficult to tell them apart.
Absolutely Stunning, another unique project (as all yours are) Good Luck in the competition, a Fabulous Entry

What a transformation of a pedestrian kit into something beautiful... (& more books, I see! not had enough at Gibbits?) I love the wee leaves on the verandah & dresser/bookcase bulit into the gable end... fab job with the sofa. I tend to shy away from white, too (also a rural grub) but this could get me having a go! just lovely. Good luck in the comp!
