Default Dressmaking

Hi all,

Thought I'd share my first attempt at miniature dressmaking. I wanted a dressed mannequin for my dressmaker's fitting room. I made a mock up first in cotton and this final version is dupion silk.

It's not perfect, but I'm pleased with how it turned out. I'm no seemstress in any scale! The pattern is from "Making and Dressing Dolls'House Dolls" by Sue Atkinson.

It looks great!

I'm impressed.

I hate sewing in that scale. I have done in the past but... well, I much prefer making for much bigger dolls where the problems of getting the fabric the right scale, so it drapes properly for the size, aren't so problematical.

Hi, completely forgot I was a member of this forum group. Karen you did good work.
If it helps anyone, use kitchen paper for a first try out of a pattern, use GLUE, any changes made to the paper pattern, cutting out again, can then be made without using precious fabric.
If anyone has questions I can hopefully help.
