Being as I am a DIY thicko and as I can't tell the scale - are those full size strips of wood and if they are then I can see a village of chalets springing up.

Luv your sense of humour Cath - so droll!!
Luv val xx

I also find the strips interesting as I also want to cover my retreat in wood. I will be taking a trip to the nearest B&Q which is 20 miles away. I wish we had a local one.

20 MILES...............you can buy the wood strips that look like the log effect....a larger piece of dowling that would be cut down the middle for a semi circle look......if you stuck them on they would give a great effect...score them a bit b4 you stain them..whittle a bit....they are a bit more expensive to buy....nearly 2 per strip...and more depending on thickness and length........:o.........i can get 3 shingles each strip (98p) to fit the side..needed 13 shingles each side......26..........left a gap at the top for the roof to have enough space, when its stuck down you won't see the gap......and it cost about 5 to do the front.........have fun ROSEBUD!:D......so i spent about 15 to shingle....retreat cost 41.....the kit is 59 normally ...(.then there's the lolly sticks....the stain is -5 per tin..already had them...)......the CARDBOARD roof tiles will come from BROMLEY at miniatura..think they are about -9 ish per pack....may need 2....the flooring will be stick on tiles 1 for 4......(you need all of them).....
