I have often wondered why it is that houses from the US are accessed at the back instead of the front, it doesn't really make sense as you couldn't have them up against a wall. I have to say I do prefer the front opening.

I also have a kindle which is great especially for holidays but you can't beat a proper book, I still buy lots but then, like you Nancy, I have to have periodic clear outs.

Sometimes I do wonder the same fhimg Shadon but they do have a nice view crom the inside. At least you see some wimdows and a front door. They do look quite nice. DHE once had transformed Grosvenor Hall like that for Harrolds and it was beautiful.

A lot of miniaturists in the U.S. use a Lazy Susan so the houses can be turned 360 degrees. Some put their finished houses on 'walk around' tables so you can view all sides. Personally, I like the front openings.

Anyway most of the arguments with my hubby all involve dolls houses or miniatures. What can I say, I can't help it. My dolls house room is very very small and well for the amount that I have and still need to build I am running out of space big time. Most of the small projects have already found room in other places of the house which hubby is not pleased about. I always bug him and tell him 'don't tell me to stop building houses, just bloody find me the space" As if it is his fault that my hobby takes a lot of space and I am running out of space.

I have been telling him to make me some shelves and it's been over a year since I told him but lost hope that they will ever happen. Today I came from work and wow a miracle happened. I think it mus have been one meteor sized hail ball that hit his head. I found him starting working on the shelves and this is how it is looking so far.

I was very pleased about it but I am already bugging him that that one huge shelf is not enough.

I will be updating you with more of his progress
The shelf looks sturdy Rebecca. I sure hope he hit some studs. Don't tell him you will be needing at LEAST 4 more shelves. The poor man will have apoplexy.

I use to put up a "honey do" list. Two weeks would go by...nothing. So I posted a "30 day grace period". When I finally did the work myself, he would be so infuriated....and embarrassed. The next time, I would see the project/work done in a couple of days. You have to train them right.

Thank you so much Izzy. There will definitely the need of more shelves in a couple of weeks. This one is almost full. He does the work immediately especially whem I say 'ok no prob I will do it' that is when the tools fly out and the job is done. He won't let me reach cor a hammer.

Yes Olga I have a very small room but I am pleased with it. The problem is I still have loads to built which are still unbuilt kits and won't fit.
