Default Stash of the day.........

I came accross this little house in a charity shop...2.50..it is a fisher price..little peoples dollshouse from the 80's......its smaller than 12th but i saw a thatched roof on it and some beams...so hubby has ordered me a box of 1000 coffee stirrrers for 6.75..free pp.........they will be used as the beams and floorboards..........i will use some tiny garden slates for the fireplace and driveway........i will copy the design.....i have painted the ceilings white...can't wait to add the beams....black or dark oak......the room heights are 4''......and the door height is 3''.............15'' length...9'' depth....9'' high..(chimneytop).....may glue some das or airclay to chimney then score the bricks on..railway plants, foliage and walls would probably be good accessories for it.
i saw one on ebay for 35 plus 8pp......(with door and furniture)

What a lovely little find Su,
And your plans for it sound great. The measurements you gave seem close to 1:24 scale, which should be helpful for you. Do keep us posted.
Hugs, B

24th?...........blimey......its too small for me to make furniture...i take my hat off to you folk out there that do it.........i only want to do up the outside...add beams inside and add the slates, lowers greenery....so its something to look at on the shelf......gave it another lick of paint inside to freshen it up.

Hi Su. I have the same dolls house. It was given to me brand new from Santa when I was 4 years old back in 1983. It was my very first dolls house. It is still in an immaculate state with papers all. The bell still rings. I still have all the furniture, staircase and the little people. It was the start of my greatest hobby. Today the kids enjoy playing with it under my supervision.

Here is a pick of me on Christmas day when I got it.

How kind of you Rebecca,
To go to the trouble of finding this old photo. I am so glad your darling little house is still in good condition and you are all enjoying it.
This will add something special to Sue's find.
Hugs, B

Thank you so much Barbara for your kind words. The picture was no trouble to find. It was given to me a year ago. Thinking about it, it was quite famous. It was published in the Dolls House & Miniature Scene magazine. Was also published on DHE monthly offer magazine anx also on their blog. So I am quite chuffed with it.

Hi Rebecca
Well, I am impressed with this little house's journey of fame. Thank you for telling us. I am not surprised all these media took an interest, it's a delightful story or news item.
Hugs,

Default Turn away now rebecca..!!!!!!!!

.........huh um.....
well i painted the outside last night and this afternoon i started to paint some black onto it using the enamel paints...originally i was'nt going to paint the roof but thought i would make use of the lovely tiled effect...i did'nt prep b4 i painted so will take off the sticker in a couple of days.......i do have plastic roof sheets on my jenny wrens and barn so it will go together nicely with them....just waiing for coffee stirrers to arrive.........this is my 'quick fix' project.....
it pays to recycle some of these dols toys in the charity shops and do them up..all you need is the framework!..it saves me using the mountboard stash yet again....

found these lovely pikkies on net..and a few black and white style houses....
