Default The Gingerbread Man Miniature Scene

Hi folks,

Something a bit different from me but I am to do it. One of my colleges at work asked me to help her make a school project for her 6year old son. Well instead of helping her and giving her advice she begged me to do it for her to save her from an embarrassment. Trust her to do that I asked her what she was wanted. She asked me to do something related to The Gingerbread Man Fairytale.

So I started off by buying a hard bound book from a charity shop. I choose one of those books that would never be picked up from the shelf. I hate destroying books. My fingers are numb after using a Stanley knife and just ate myself through 400 pages. Now I know how a bookworm feels So far I also covered it with blue contact paper.

Thank you so much Elayne. It won't be anything special as it is a kids school project but I still have loads to do.

I'll be following this with interest as I've thought of doing a book project.

Ah Rebecca,
Always on the look out for something different? I always enjoyed seeing this type of miniature setting - it is small but interesting enough and you can easily store it away. And unlike you, I never had issues with destroying or selling books. For me a book is something I use for one time and then place it on the shelf (making people believe I am not an idiot, perhaps ). I am looking forward seeing more of this project. Until then I go and read about the gingebread man.

Today I worked a little bit more. As it is a school project. Costs had to cut down so I will be making look like a pop up book. And this is what I did so far.

Thank you so much Karim for your kind words. I have to finish it tonight as I have to give it to the little boy tomorrow. Let's hope he likes it.

Well, you do not waste much time, Rebecca, but then again, the deadline was pretty tight so you had to speed up creativity which is no problem for you anyway. I think the little chap will be thrilled to have such a lovely and inspiring piece to show. Perfect job, my dear.
